Rosie recently secured a book deal with the publisher HarperCollins/Mira for her first novel, which she has written under the nom de plume Rosie Mackenzie to honour her late mother. Somewhat drawing on her own background of growing up in Ireland, The Homestead on The River is about an Irish family who moves to Australia for a fresh start..
HER name is synonymous with real estate in Tasmania and now Rosie is taking the literary world by storm.
"This is a story I've always wanted to write so it's been a work in progress for many years," Mrs Peterswald said.
"I had a lot of rejections before HarperCollins accepted it.”
"It's quite a bit different to writing real estate ads for the paper."
Rosie came to Australia with her family from Ireland in the 1950s.
She moved to Tasmania with her husband Rob in 1981 and the couple started their own real estate agency, Peterswalds, in 1992 as one of the few boutique firms in Hobart at the time.
Retired from the real estate game, the couple now split their time between Tasmania, Canberra and spending five months of the year on their yacht overseas.
The Homestead on the River will be launched at Fullers Bookshop tomorrow at 5:30pm.
